Emma is a lens based artist, creating narrative and conceptual images using staged scenes, found moments, and her own body. She explores her identity, relationships, and representations of women. In addition to her photo practice, Emma works three-dimensionally; using porcelain, wax, textiles, creating photo-objects, and assemblage handmade books with vernacular images. She is interested in the body, the home, and the land– as sites of allure, and exploitation.
Emma received her Bachelor's of Fine Art from The University of New Mexico, and achieved her Master of Fine Art in photography at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City. Her work has been exhibited in New York City, Beijing & Lishui China, Paris, France, SITE Santa Fe, Colorado Photographic Arts Center, Salina Art Center, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of New Mexico, and Arizona State University. She most recently exhibited her work at the Lishui Photography Center in China, and had her MFA thesis exhibit in New York City.
